Bio/CV

Raúl Hott is a Chilean architect, researcher and artist. He develops alternatives and tools to alleviate the trauma and damage provoked by the current political and economic system on our mental, physical and social health. Specifically, he designs experiences that create awareness, through an exploration of sound, movement practice, ephemeral architecture, psychology and forms of perception.

Raúl holds an MFA in New Forms from Pratt Institute. He is interested in pedagogy and has taught in art and architecture schools since 2007. During 2017, he was a fellow resident of the experimental education program Capacete in Athens, and he participated in ‘The School of Everything’; a symposium for discussing the future of art education organized by Documenta 14's Public Program in Athens.

His work and collaborations have been featured at Centro de Residencias Artísticas Matadero Madrid (Spain), Point Centre for Contemporary Art (Cyprus), Art in Odd Places Festival (NY), Trestle Gallery (NY), Ed. Varie Gallery (NY), Blackburn 20/20 Gallery (NY), Espacios Revelados (Chile), Centro de Creación y Residencia NAVE (Chile), and HALLE14 (Germany), among others.
